PET and diffusion MRI Lead Investigator: Wei-en Wang Institution : University of Florida E-Mail : kgauthreaux@gmail.com Proposal ID : 1613 Proposal Description: This project aims to look at the relationship between SUVR and measurements derived from the diffusion imaging in the MCI population. The primary goal is to investigate the changes in diffusion brain imaging and its relation to the changes in amyloid deposition in the disease progression from MCI to AD. The secondary goal is to compare these changes to normal aging. This analysis will include other imaging variables, clinical scores, demographic factors to delineate the complex development of brain morphometry in AD. Specifically, we plan to use the variables derived from DTI scans (FW, FA, MD) and PET scans (SUVR) in conjunction with other information (cortical thickness, gray matter/ white matter volume) readily available in NACC. We are aware that the amyloid scans are limited in NACC. Identification of the diffusion profiles in relation to other brain measures will provide significant insights of the neurophysiological changes in the disease progression from MCI to AD.
